It's been a slow night, and cold, and windy, but at least it isn't raining for once. Sometimes that's the best you can hope for, Dan thinks as he crouches, motionless, atop a roof and watches as two men enter the alley below. They're nervous, twitchy, and both keep checking over their shoulders, but like most people, they don't think to look up. He's waiting to act until whomever the thugs are meeting show up too - no point in collaring only half of the deal - and then he blinks behind the goggles that hide his eyes. He feels like he isn't alone, but he's just scanned the rooftop not thirty seconds ago to find it empty and silent.

Tomorrow tornadorex and I pack our apartment into banana and beer boxes and Friday we transport our apartment to our new and awesome apartment. (Encouraging texts are encouraging.) Internets at New Awesome Apartment won't be hooked up until Monday, and given the track record of most internet installations, possibly won't work until Monday night or Tuesday. Or later. Ugh.

So, take a few days off and please don't do anything too ridiculously awesome this weekend, Internet. I'll be back in awhile.

muzivitch and I were talking and we've decided to take a break from posting Among the Trees in the hope that we can finish it. We've run out of buffer, you see, and we don't want to end up writing filler just to keep up with posting. We're going to finish it, so it gets finished, and our plan is to post the completed story in one (probably enormous) chunk on Sunday.

Don't worry; we are going to finish it. We swear on Adrian's morally-ambiguous purple glitter.

In the meantime, we've started a comm for our VeidtOwl fic at (I can't believe this wasn't already taken) veidtowl and will be editing and posting there, as well as archiving Among the Trees there when it's finished.
